About the Sigma Exchange Commission

Since 1995 V.C.M.W. Sigma’s Exchange committee organizes an annual exchange with chemistry students from ETH Zürich, Switzerland. The event is organized in an intense collaboration with the students association of ETH, the Vereinigung der Chemiestudierenden, VCS.

In 1995 about twenty pioneering students from the Radboud University went to the Swiss tech institute. When the next year two dozen Swiss students visited Nijmegen, a tradition was born.
Since then student from Nijmegen visit Zürich every even year and Swiss students come to The Netherlands in the odd years.

During the week the exchange takes place, the guests get to know the hosts’ university, city and culture. This is done by paying visits to the university, interesting sites and attractions in the city and by indulging in lots of fun activities. Besides these things there is also a fair amount of time spent by visiting chemistry-related industries.
